From Brown’s Construction to Brown Bros., Inc.
In 1997, brothers Britt and Tripp Brown began Brown Bros., Inc. with nothing more than one dump truck, a bulldozer and a passion for construction.
“I knew at an early age what I wanted to do” said Brown Bros President Britt Brown. “I love being out on the job, moving the dirt and making it all come together. It’s a gratifying to see your results at the end of the day.”
Britt and Tripp got started in construction at an early age working with their father, B Brown, who owned Brown Construction.
“They were really too young to work when they started working for their father,” said Barbara Brown, executive secretary for Brown Bros and the mother of the brothers.
Photographs of the Browns litter the office showing them working on paving crews, operating machinery and even reviewing plans.
“When we first started, we did the whole job,” Tripp said. “Laying out the site, running the equipment and moving the dirt it was all done by Britt and I. Every aspect of the business has been hands on and we have experience in every aspect of it.”
This love for work has also shown in their admiration for their hometown of Chattanooga, TN. “We grew up in this city and enjoy doing work in a town we call home” Tripp said.
Brown Bros., Inc. Today
Brown Bros., Inc. founders’ and employees’ respect for their work and love for Chattanooga have taken the company from that single dump truck, bulldozer and two brothers to over 100 employees and machines. The business has now earned a place as a premier land and site infrastructure contractor servicing the Southeast United States with a focus on the Chattanooga area.

The goal is simple: Show the same standard of commitment and passion for each and every project. Whether it’s site development for a 1 acre tract or a 100 acre commercial project, Brown Bros will work diligently to stay on schedule and within budget and always maintain a professional and courteous manner.
